Yesterday Business Connect hosted a presentation from The Queen’s Awards representatives to the local business community. David Moore who is the Secretary to the Prime Minister’s Advisory Committee and Steve Brice who is the Secretary of The Queen’s Awards presented a talk to raise awareness of the Awards to South West Wales businesses. The audience included Hywel Evans President of the West Wales Chamber of Commerce, Mike Jones from the FSB, Alan Howells from the local Authority, representatives from Lloyds TSB, Natwest, HSBC and Barclays Bank, the South Wales Evening Post and Business Connect Advisors.

The Queen’s Awards are the most prestigious business awards in the UK and are open to all British firms with at least 2 employees. The Awards are presented annually by HM The Queen at a reception held at Buckingham Palace. The Awards carry significant benefits including marketing and publicity advantages as the Awards emblem can be used on promotional material for five years. Applications must be received by the end of October although Mr Brice asked firms to consider applying earlier. All applicants receive feedback about their application.

Business Connect Neath Port Talbot would like to thank Mr Moore and Mr Brice for their interesting and informative presentation.

An online application form and further details can be found at The Queen’s Awards’ website at http://www.queensawards.org.uk/
