More funding for Neath Port Talbot start ups

Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council have announced further funding for new local start up businesses.  There is now a £500 Start up grant available and there is also a Capital Grant available.  If you are thinking of becoming self employed then you could be eligible for this funding to help you get started.   Your new business would need to be based within the County of Neath Port Talbot or if you intend to work from home then you need to be a resident of the Borough.  Business Connect can help you to apply for the funding.

Most Promising Businesses in Wales

This week saw the publication by the Western Mail of the ‘Wales’ Hot 100′ start ups. This guide celebrates the best of Welsh entrepreneurship by identifying the most promising young businesses in the Country. We are delighted to discover that 4 local businesses have made it onto this prestigious list:-

- Agrimek Ltd in Pontardawe
- Nationwide Recycling in Neath
- Syniad Systems Ltd in Margam (shown in photo)

To qualify each firm had to be based in Wales, be less than 3 years old, the sales figure for 2006 or 2007 had to exceed £100k and finally the founder had to be involved in the daily operations.
